
WESTPORT, CT — With various road projects going on around Westport, in addition to a continued need for parking enforcement, the town is looking to hire a Traffic Agent, officials announced.
The position pays $14 per hour but does not include benefits. To qualify for the post, a successful candidate must demonstrate an ability "to learn the techniques of parking enforcement procedures and traffic control, understand and follow directions, deal tactfully and effectively with the public and other employees." Applicants also must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a motor vehicle.
"This person will support public safety by enforcing motor vehicle parking regulations; directs traffic and ensures that the public complies with the local rules and regulations of the Town of Westport," officials wrote on the town's website. "Also, issues warnings and citations for illegal parking and promotes good community relations."
