Westport Superintendent Criticizes Regional Uniform School Calendar

Landon said that a bill that would result in financial loss for towns that don't follow the calendar flies in the face of tradition.

WESTPORT, CT- School Superintendent Elliott Landon sharply criticized a bill that would penalize schools that don't follow the Regional Uniform School Calendar.

Landon testified in Hartford about the bill, according to Westport Now. He argued that every school district should have the right to decide its own calendar without financial penalty from the state.

Landon said that the loss of February break has had a detrimental effect on families. The week is often used by Westporters to visit distance relatives.
