Westport Temple Israel Protester Speaks Out
One of the arrestees spoke about the experience and what led to police being summoned and nearby schools being locked down.

One of the Temple Israel protesters who was arrested said that misinformation about the protest led to the panic and arrests.
Daniel Fischer, 25, of New Haven said to the Norwalk Hour that the situation unexpectedly escalated. He said he and fellow protester Gregory Williams, 25, also of New Haven were told to leave because they didn’t have tickets.
He began reading testimony from a Palestinian woman whose son was killed in Gaza in 2009.

Fischer is a student at Southern Connecticut State University and Williams is at Yale Divinity School. Both are Jewish. They didn’t tell the organizers of the event about their planned actions.
Both have been arrested at protesting events in the past. State Sen. Toni Boucher, (R-Wilton) called on Yale administration to condemn the protesters actions.
