Westporters Who Travel at Night to SoNo or Near Exit 14 Will Soon Have a Longer Trip
Highway projects in Stamford, Norwalk & Fairfield on multiple nights: It's started in Stamford & Fairfield; in Norwalk within days.

If you travel at night on Interstate 95 after 9 p.m. and use Exit 14, you’ll have to find some other route for two weeks, starting Monday: A construction project will close the ramp from that time to 3 a.m., so find another route.
Here are two other projects that will affect nighttime highway traffic in the area:
- Farther down the highway, expect a nighttime slowdown in Stamford, where one lane will close in both directions in the area of Exit 9 on various nights starting at 8:30 p.m.
- If you’re traveling northbound on the Merritt Parkway at night, expect lane closures just after you cross into Fairfield.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced the projects in separate news releases earlier this week. Daytime and even early morning travel is not supposed to be changed.
