Westport's Sniffen Road Historic District Lacks Support: Report
The proposed district would have included several homes built in the 1950s as Flower Estates at Westport.

WESTPORT, CT — An application for a new historic district in Westport has been withdrawn due to a lack of support, reported the Westport News.
The district was proposed in an area north of Main Street on Sniffen Road, Calumet and Loren lanes and Fillow Street, where dozens of homes are located that were built in the 1950s.
Developers called the area Flower Estates at Westport, and many are among a dwindling number of starter homes left in town.

Sniffen Road resident Amy Zipkin reportedly withdrew the historic district application because it did not get enough buy-in from area residents.
Included in the opposition to the historic designation was Representative Town Meeting member and Sniffen Road resident Don O'Day, the publication reported.
