Winner Named In Sustainable Westport Logo Contest
The logo contest is part of an overall rebranding of the town's "Green Task Force."
Sustainable Westport: The Sustainable Westport Advisory Team is pleased to announce the winner of its town-wide contest to design a new logo for the organization. Westporter Lisa Mezoff’s design (http://bit.ly/SWLogoWinner) has been selected from more than 50 designs submitted by local residents, students and businesses to represent the group’s sustainability mission.
The logo contest is part of an overall rebranding of the Town’s “Green Task Force” to better reflect its evolved mission engaging the entire community in projects ranging from renewable energy and energy efficiency, electric vehicles, recycling and waste management, to keeping waterways, beaches, and parks in pristine condition as Westport endeavors to be a net-zero community by 2050. Mezoff’s design will set the tone for an all-new Sustainable Westport website and social media scheduled to go live in August.
Sustainable Westport was thrilled with the creativity, variety, and the number of logo concepts and designs submitted. While choosing among the many compelling ideas submitted was difficult, in the end, Mezoff’s design stood out for its clarity and flexibility and was a unanimous pick.” Selection Committee member Dawn Henry said, “[T]he team felt the winning logo best balanced the multiple aspects of what sustainability means for Westport, while still being an elegantly simple design, and representing growth and the coming together of different parts of our community.” First Selectman Jim Marpe said, “I’m excited about Lisa’s design and love that our residents are crafting our Town’s identity as a sustainable community”.
