Join the community as America comes together to read the Declaration of Independence. All over the United States in honor of America’s 250th people are getting together to read the Declaration of Independence as one. For us in Wethersfield and the East Coast that means 6pm.
Meet friends and neighbors at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center, 200 Main Street, Wethersfield&nbsp;for a guided walking tour to the Cove Warehouse. Three tours leaving between 5:00pm – 5:20pm. At the Cove Warehouse the Declaration of Independence will be read aloud.&nbsp;Those not interested or unable to make the walk can go directly to the Cove.

On Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30 pm. Wethersfield Historical Society presents a Keeney Koolers Concert by Number 9, everybody’s favorite Beatles Tribute Band. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food and beverages, and don’t forget your dancing shoes. Come early and stake out your space on the lawn in front of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street, Wethersfield) for a great time. The performance will take place outdoors on the showmobile stage. Thanks to the generosity of a single and determined donor, admission is free. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the Ballroom at the Keeney.

Wethersfield Historical Society celebrates America250 with a new program series exploring the history of the American Revolution. All of the programs in this series take place in-person at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT). Admission is free for current members of the society and $10 per program for non-members.
University of Maryland History Professor Dr. Richard Bell concludes the American Revolution Program Series with a lecture entitled The French Alliance &amp; the Road to Yorktown. Wethersfield resident Silas Deane&nbsp;played a crucial role in helping establish an important alliance&nbsp;between the United States and France. This lecture explores the vital&nbsp;role that the alliance with the French played in the American Revolution&nbsp;and how that alliance evolved over time – from France providing secret&nbsp;support with guns and other goods to the French working together with&nbsp;the Americans to beat the British at the decisive siege of Yorktown.
