WHS presents The American Revolution Program Series #6 - The French Alliance & The Road to Yorktown

Wethersfield Historical Society celebrates America250 with a new program series exploring the history of the American Revolution. All of the programs in this series take place in-person at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT). Admission is free for current members of the society and $10 per program for non-members.
University of Maryland History Professor Dr. Richard Bell concludes the American Revolution Program Series with a lecture entitled The French Alliance & the Road to Yorktown. Wethersfield resident Silas Deane played a crucial role in helping establish an important alliance between the United States and France. This lecture explores the vital role that the alliance with the French played in the American Revolution and how that alliance evolved over time – from France providing secret support with guns and other goods to the French working together with the Americans to beat the British at the decisive siege of Yorktown.
