Christmas Movie Being Filmed In CT Town

A movie that will air on either the Hallmark or Lifetime channels is being shot in Connecticut.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Wethersfield is undergoing a holiday transformation in September. A Christmas movie is being filmed in town by a Rocky Hill production company, according to an NBC Connecticut report.

The film will air during the holiday season on the Lifetime or Hallmark channels. The production team has picked a few sites for shooting, including private residences and some of the town's historic buildings.

They've also created fake snow using a mixture of paper and water to create a winter effect, NBC Connecticut reported.

Andrew Gernhard, the movie's producer, said that the town has the right feel for the Christmas film and that they'll also be traveling to other towns across the state for filming.

This isn't the first holiday film to be shot in Wethersfield—"Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane" was filmed last year and debuted in November. The movie was based on a novel by Mary Elizabeth McDonough and starred actress Alicia Witt.

Connecticut seems to be one of Hallmark's favorite filming locations. Movies have filmed in Old Lyme and North Haven. Melissa Joan Hart also filmed a Christmas movie in Mystic.

"My Adventures with Santa" was filmed in several Central Connecticut towns last year as well. The movie starred Denise Richards, Patrick Muldoon and TV icon Barbara Eden.
