State Police likely averted another tragedy early Monday morning after they arrested a wrong-way driver on I-84 westbound. Daniel Vice, 32, of Plainville was arrested after he was found to be driving in the left lane on the wrong side of the highway, according to State Police. He was charged with DUI, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, improper entry on a highway and first-degree reckless endangerment.
"Connecticut State Police would like to remind people that a wrong way driver is a true emergency, if you see one do not hesitate, call 911 immediately," said Trooper First Class Tanya Compagnone, police spokesman. "You will not get in trouble for using your phone while operating your vehicle when reporting an emergency such as this."
