With the road closed to cars, residents can enjoy yoga, kids' activities, shuttles, and bike valet while exploring shops, museums, and live music throughout the historic district.

• Suspect Attacks Wethersfield Gas Station Cashier, Police Investigating (patch.com) — Police are investigating a Wednesday night robbery at the Valero gas station on Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, where a man ripped a gold chain from the cashier's neck and fled. Officers, assisted by a Middletown K-9 team, searched nearby but did not find the suspect, and detectives are asking anyone with information to call them.

• Northwest Catholic high school football preview 2026 (rep-am.com) — Northwest Catholic's football team, fresh off a run to the Class S final, is reloading with just three returning starters and a new quarterback battle. Wethersfield fans may want to circle Sept. 25, when the Lions visit for a 6 p.m. conference matchup that will showcase one of the area's top returning running backs, Kaedean Stewart.
