Wethersfield Cops: Man Carrying Ax 'Checked OK'

A man who was wandering near a Wethersfield club with what seemed to be an ax posed no threat, police said.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Wethersfield police on Monday morning said the man seen with what appeared to be an ax near the Pine Acres Swim and Tennis Club, has been identified and poses no threat to the public.

"Male was identified and checked OK," Wethersfield police Tweeted next to the original post asking for help in finding out who he was.

Wethersfield police released an image of the man on Friday morning. The incident was on Wednesday near the front gate of Pine Acres, 196 Western Boulevard.

The man pictured seemed to be carrying an ax over his shoulder. He was seen walking southbound toward wintergreen woods, according to police.
