
Anthony Joseph LoSchiavo, 91, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Gira (Arserio) LoSchiavo, passed away on October 5, 2016.
Born in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (D'Angelo) LoSchiavo. Mr. Anthony J. LoSchiavo spent his early years in the U.S. Navy, and then attended the Randall Art School in Hartford. He subsequently spent many years in the restaurant business, from which he retired in 1989.
Since then, he has resumed his art studies at Central Connecticut State University where he studied anatomy, figure drawing and sketching. His studies also include cartooning and caricature drawings. He is a past member of Glastonbury Art League, as well as the North Shore Art Association of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Mr. LoSchiavo was a member of Newington and Wethersfield Art Leagues. He was working on landscapes in oil, acrylic, mixed media, and murals for local clientele.

His work is currently displayed in professional offices and restaurants in the Greater Hartford area. He also specialized in rendering of residences both local and out of state. He enjoyed painting landscapes, and seascapes including renditions of Great Diamond Island cottages, Diamond's Edge Restaurant and a variety of island views from Great Diamond Island and Casco Bay in Maine. Mr. LoSchiavo was also involved in the restoration of works of art, including oil painting and frames.
He is survived by his sons Martin LoSchiavo and his wife Donna of Rocky Hill, and Michael LoShiavo of Stuart, FL, and his daughter Patricia McAndrew and husband Mark of Wethersfield. He also leaves behind his sister Geraldine Cannarella, Ann Nolan and Rafalina Leon, as well as his four grandchildren. Anthony was predeceased by his two brothers Gustone and Arthur LoSchiavo.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 11:00 a.m., at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Burial with full military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
