Wethersfield Police Begin Speed And Aggressive Driving Campaign

The initiative began Wednesday and will last until September.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — The Wethersfield Police Department will conduct speed and aggressive driving enforcement during peak travel times from July 21 to Sept. 16, according to a statement. The enforcement, funded by a Connecticut Department of Transportation grant, is intended to reduce the number of speed-related crashes, specifically those that result in injuries and fatalities.

Enforcement will focus on the following roads: Silas Deane Highway (Route 99), Berlin Turnpike (Route 5/15), Wells Road (Route 175), Maple Street (Route 3), Jordan Lane (Route 314), Prospect Street (Route 287), Ridge Road, Wolcott Hill Road, and Goff Road.

Police said they are "committed to addressing quality of life issues within our community and ensuring the safety of our roadways for all residents and visitors," according to the statement.
