Wethersfield Police Dog Helps Nab Suspects In Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT — Three New York City men were chased down by police — including two by a Wethersfield police dog — after trying to obtain drugs with a fake prescription at a Glastonbury pharmacy, police said.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Glastonbury police were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy at 766 New London Turnpike on a report of a man attempting to obtain a fraudulent prescription.

After police arrived at the scene, an officer approached two men outside the store. The men then ran away, according to a report.

The officer chased one of the men around the building, across the street, and into the sales lot at Monaco Ford, where he was taken into custody, according to a report. The second man entered a vehicle in the CVS parking lot, already occupied by a waiting driver, and it fled south on New London Turnpike, according to a report.

The getaway car was spotted turning onto Hale Road and it became stuck in a pile of snow at the end of Montano Road, according to a report.

The occupants left the vehicle and three GPD officers followed footprints in the snow for about a half-mile into a wooded area parallel to Route 2, then across all lanes of Route 2, and back
down along the westbound side of Route 2, approximately 1 mile westbound.

A Wethersfield Police Department dog unit assisted in a track, and the two men were located, according to a report.

Arrested were three 27-year-olds from The Bronx, NY: Marlon Lissade, Mark Smith and Kirk McGowan.

Lissade was charged with conspiracy to obtain a controlled drug by fraud, third-degree criminal crespass and interfering, according to a report.

Smith and McGowan were charged with conspiracy to cbtain a controlled drug by fraud and interfering, according to a report.

All three were held on $50,000 bonds overnight and were to appear in court Wednesday.
