5 Wilton Open Houses This Weekend: Luxury Farmhouse, Private Cottage And More

A renovated farmhouse with a heated studio barn and a multimillion-dollar Colonial are among the homes opening their doors this weekend.

WILTON, CT — Wilton's open houses this weekend include a renovated farmhouse at the top of Olmstead Hill whose barn, heated and air-conditioned, its listing calls ideal for "music, art studio or parties." There are also two big Colonials on Powder Horn Hill Road, one with a separate legal cottage, and a Cape a few minutes from the Cannondale train station.

Five Wilton homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $699,000 to $2,195,000, according to Zillow.com.

160 Olmstead Hill Road, noon to 2 p.m., $1,899,000. New to the market Oct. 8, this renovated farmhouse sits at the top of Olmstead Hill with rear views of a 50-acre protected parcel, according to the listing. The kitchen has a gas fireplace and marble counters, and there are two work-from-home spaces upstairs. Its barn, renovated in 2013 with heat and air conditioning, is pitched for music, an art studio or parties. It's a four-bedroom, three-bath home with 3,282 square feet on 2.01 acres. It's also open Friday and Monday, noon to 2 p.m.

8 Glen Ridge #8, noon to 2 p.m. (also Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.), $699,000. This Glen River townhouse has an updated kitchen and baths, fresh hardwood floors, custom millwork, a wood-burning fireplace and an office or den with built-ins and a skylight. Sliders open to a private patio. It's a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo with 1,394 square feet; the HOA fee is $681 a month. Its price was cut by $26,000 on Oct. 6.

Sunday, Oct. 11

315 Olmstead Hill Road, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., $849,000. On a scenic country road about five minutes from the Cannondale Metro-North station, according to the listing, this 1955 Cape has a stone fireplace, a main-level primary bedroom and a partially finished walkout lower level, with a full bath on every level. It's a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with 2,635 square feet on half an acre. Its price was cut by $50,000 on Oct. 7.

39 Powder Horn Hill Road, 1 to 3 p.m., $1,799,000. Set on 2.28 wooded acres, this house has a detached legal cottage with a bedroom, a full bath, a kitchen and a deck. The main kitchen has two sinks, two dishwashers and two ovens, and the primary suite has two walk-in closets and a balcony. It's a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath homewith 5,231 square feet.

14 Powder Horn Hill Road, 1 to 3 p.m., $2,195,000. This 2006 Colonial on two acres has a front porch, a sweeping staircase, a Sub-Zero kitchen with a large island and a family room with a coffered ceiling and a fireplace. There's also a library, and the primary suite has a fireplace. It's a five-bedroom home with four full and two half baths and 7,843 square feet. Its price was cut by $204,000 on Sept. 22.

Also open Sunday: 8 Glen Ridge #8 (noon to 2 p.m.).

Make a weekend of it: Saturday's farmhouse and its barn are on Olmstead Hill, and so is Sunday's Cape at 315, so you can see the road both days. On Sunday afternoon, the two Powder Horn Hill Road houses share the 1 to 3 p.m. slot.
