72-HOUR HOCKEY GAME TO RAISE FUNDS

Marathon Game Return April 28 - May 1 Plus NY Rangers Meet 'n Greet

On April 28th, men and women, ages 16 to 75, will play a 72-Hour continuous hockey game at Winter Garden Ice Arena, 111 Prospect Ridge, Ridgefield, CT. This is the third year Play For Purpose is hosing the event to raise awareness and funds for local charities. Proceeds will benefit Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Pets for Vets, Southern CT Storm Hockey and Connecticut Burn Camp.

The Players love the game but are playing for something beyond the love of sport. Last year the group raised over $50,000 (net to charities) and this year their goal is $60,000.

The event is open to the public and admission if free. Opening ceremonies begin Thursday evening, April 28 at 7:00 pm and are followed by a Silent Auction and Cocktail Reception before the first puck drops at 9 pm. Play continues through Sunday, May 1 at 7 pm.

In addition to the game, there will be special guest appearances on Saturday, May 1 by New York Rangers Alumni with an Open Skate, Autographs, and "Meet and Greet" from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. NY Ranger team memorabilia as well as autographed player jerseys will be auctioned off at the Silent Auction along with other interesting items.

The NY Rangers' Sled Dog Hockey Game againt the Gaylord Wolfpack (professional hokey for disabled players) will be held at 2 pm on Saturday. Danbury vs. Fairfield County Firefightres will square off in a game at 4 pm. The NY Ranger Road Truck will be there for the public to explore as well as a bake sale and barbeque.
