American Chamber Orchestra Winter Concert

Saturday, February 28 at 8 PM. The American Chamber Orchestra presents its Winter Concert on Saturday, February 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield at 8:00 PM. The program features the Prelude to an Afternoon of a Fawn by Debussy, the Elgar Enigma Variations and the Dvorak Violin Concerto. Deborah Wong will be the violin soloist. Music Director Christopher Hisey will conduct the concert. Suggested contribution is $20 for adults and $10 for students. Violin soloist Deborah Wong is currently concertmaster of both the Greater Bridgeport Symphony and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Ms. Wong has performed with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Brattleboro Bach Festival Orchestra and the Stony Brook Symphony. She is on the faculty of the Westport School of Music and is a registered Suzuki violin teacher. Ms. Wong has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, CRI, Elysium and New World Records.

Music Director and co-founder of the American Chamber Orchestra, Mr. Hisey is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Bowling Green University. Mr. Hisey currently serves as the Music Director and Conductor for the Civic Orchestra of New Haven, the Greater Bridgeport Youth Symphony and is the Associate Conductor for the Greater Bridgeport Symphony. Mr. Hisey also serves on the string faculty of Greens Farms Academy in Westport and has served as Adjunct Professor of Conducting and Music Director at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, and Fairfield University. He has also served as Music Director of the Connecticut Valley Chamber Orchestra and the Troupers Light Opera Company.
