Wilton Library’s 13th annual Ladies’ Soirée set for Sept. 27

Laughter.  Hugs.  Kisses.  Smiles. These are some of the best elements of Wilton Library’s thirteen annual Ladies’ Soirée on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m.  The evening is a blend of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a giving tree, and good company – all for a good cause – the Wilton Library.

“This is such a fun evening for the women of Wilton and surrounding communities,” said Lelei Coyle, newly appointed Wilton Library Trustee and co-chair of the event for the past five years.  “September is a time for people to get together after the summer, catch up with friends, make new acquaintances and bask in the glow and camaraderie of the library on a cool fall night.”  Joining Ms. Coyle as co-chairs for the event are Priscilla Thors, for the fifth straight year, with newcomers Caitlin Walsh, Nalini Hage and Kari Roberts.

According to Anne Rowlands, director of development for Wilton Library, “This signature event grows more popular each year. The library gets ‘dressed up’ for its guests, auction items are well-thought out and organized, and the whole community ultimately benefits from the support of many loyal and lovely ladies. Their exuberance and generosity at the event allows the library to continue to provide programs and services that our visitors deserve and have come to expect from their library.”  With auction items ranging from a wine tasting class to a poker party, from salon and fitness experiences to just plain fun stuff, guests can enjoy a wide variety of services and merchandise whether for themselves, family members, teachers, pets or any special person in their lives.

Food this year will be provided by Sarah Bouissou Catering, and music by the Darren Litzie Trio (with bassist Harvie S sitting in). Media sponsor for the evening is Wilton Magazine.  Priscilla Thors added, “Lots of special extras and opportunities will be available for all who can join the fun.”

Tickets for the event are $50 per person and may be purchased online at www.wiltonlibrary.org, at the circulation desk or on the phone by calling Sue Sullivan at 203-762-3950, ext. 241.  Tickets also may be purchased at the door the evening of the event.  Wilton Library is located in the heart of Wilton Center at 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
