ASML Sets Guinness World Record For Smallest Advertisement

The company has a major manufacturing location in Wilton.

WILTON, CT — Wilton manufacturer ASML set a new Guiness World Record for the smallest advertisement. The company produced the advertisement using lithography techniques that are used to create nanometer-scale microchips.

The advertisement has a surface area of 258 micrometers and measures 33.27 micrometers by 7.76 micrometers. A typical strand of human hair is 75 micrometers wide. The advertisement reads, "To truly go small you have to think big #smallest_ad ASML"

The previous record was set by fast food chain Arby's which produced a 735 micron squared ad on a sesame seed in June 2018.

ASML is headquartered in the Netherlands and has one of its main manufacturing facilities in Wilton. The company is currently looking to fill 100 Wilton-based positions. The company recently projected its sales to increase from 2.8 billion euros to 3 billion euros in the fourth quarter.
