Stocks Climb After Upbeat Economic Data, Dow Hits New All-Time High

Stocks extended their gains Friday, with major averages looking to log their fourth-straight week higher, lifted by a pair of upbeat economic reports.

NASDAQ Nasdaq Composite Index 3492.63   27.39 0.79%
The Dow Jones Industrial Average extended its gains, led by Boeing and JPMorgan.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq also climbed. The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), widely considered the best gauge of fear in the market, traded below 13.

The S&P 500 & Nasdaq have each had gains of at least 1 percent in each of the last four weeks. The last time that happened for the S&P was back in October 2011 and the last time the Nasdaq rose at least 1 percent for four-straight weeks was in February 2012.
