Know Your Facts About Botox Before Your Treatment
- Botox is freeze-dried and has to be reconstituted with 0.9% Bacteriostatic NS. You should ask your practitioner what their dilution rate is. We, at Wilton Aesthetic Center and Renaissance Beauty, use a 1:1 dilution. That is 1ml of 0.9% Bacteriostatic NS per 100 units of Botox.
- Make sure that you do not have a practitioner who overdilutes your Botox. You will be paying for NS.
- You should ALWAYS ask your practitioner, PRIOR TO TREATMENT WITH BOTOX, "When was this Botox reconstituted?". You should be allowed to examine the bottle, as it should be labelled with the date of reconstitution. **BEWARE OF BOTOX THAT IS NOT LABELLED OR HAS BEEN OPEN FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS!!!**
- The "older" the Botox, the longer it has been reconstituted, the less effective it will be.
