Police ID Contractor Who Was Electrocuted in Wilton: UPDATE

Police have identified the victim of an apparent electrocution working in Wilton as a 44-year-old Danbury man.

Wilton, CT - A private contractor that was electrocuted while working died Thursday, according to police reports.

The worker was Marco Silva, 44, of Danbury. He was employed by KTI Utility Construction of Wilton.

He was reportedly replacing utility poles near Rivergate Drive when he was electrocuted and brought to Norwalk Hospital, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police have closed the area while they investigate, while OSHA is also reportedly looking into the matter.

The road will be closed for an extended period of time between the intersections of Blue Ridge Lane and Pilgram Trail. Wilton CERT responded and will be assisting with traffic control.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy today and determined the cause of death as electrocution.
