Builders Beyond Borders (B3) Open Enrollment for High School Students
With over 20 years of providing local high school students with leadership training through local and global community service projects, Builders Beyond Borders (B3) continues accepting applications for enrollment for the 2014-2015 program year.
The non-profit organization represents more than 20 local high schools across Fairfield County. Enrolled students fundraise and perform local community service projects during the school year, then travel to a Latin American or Caribbean country in the spring to build needed facilities for deserving communities. This past spring, nearly 400 B3 volunteers completed projects in 5 communities throughout the Dominican Republic including nearly 100 latrines, a medical clinic and 20 prefabricated homes. In February, March and April of 2015, B3 teams will travel and work in Guatemala.

According to Amy Schroeder-Riggio, Executive Director at B3, “We hope even more students from around Fairfield County will join Builders Beyond Borders this year. We had such a great year and saw our students have so many positive experiences connecting with people both here in Connecticut and in the Dominican Republic. We want to give even more students the opportunity to gain leadership skills and give back to their local and global communities.”
