Join the Wilton Land Trust for a guided hike through Marble/Van Haelewyn-Richards Preserve led by ISA Master Arborist and CT Certified Arborist Christopher Teter, followed by native tree restoration! This hands-on experience is a meaningful way to learn about forest ecology and stewardship while contributing directly to habitat restoration efforts.We will meet at the trail entrance found at the cul-de-sac on Abbott Lane. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early as we want to leave for the hike as close to 12:00pm as possible. The event will conclude at 1:30 PM.

The Cannon Grange

The Cannon Grange is delighted to announce the return of its annual Agricultural Fair on Sunday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Grange Hall, 25 Cannon Road, Wilton.
This year's fair promises a full day of community fun, contests and creativity, in what organizers proudly call "the sweetest little fair in the area."
Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy the Grange's popular Adult and Junior competitions, showcasing local talents in a variety of agricultural, horticultural, culinary, and handcrafted categories. The fair will also feature local nonprofit organizations sharing information about their missions, along with some talented artisans and vendors offering handcrafted and artistic products.
Organizers are especially pleased that the ongoing Cannon Bridge construction will not impact access to this year's event. They are also grateful to the new owner of the adjoining property, who has generously allowed the Grange to use the additional outdoor space during this year's fair.
"This year's fair is an exciting opportunity for our community," organizers said.
Admission is $2 per person – under 2 is free. (No animals permitted per State Grange regulations)
 Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and celebrate community, agriculture, and local tradition at the Cannon Grange, 25 Cannon Road, Wilton.

This year we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution! Join us at the Wilton Historical Society on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00 pm for a presentation about music during the Revolution by Christine Hauck.
Christine Hauck is a visual arts educator, lecturer, multimedia artist, and award-winning designer. Through her graffeast studio, she creates marketing, branding, and collateral materials. She holds an M.A. in History of Decorative Arts and Curatorial Studies from Parsons School of Design and the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, a degree in Graphics and Advertising from Parsons School of Design, including a postgraduate seminar in Japan, and a B.A. in Art History from Vassar College. She was formerly an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut in Digital Media.This lecture will focus on the American Revolutionary Era (1763–1783) and what the residents of Wilton in 1776 would have been listening to at the time. Christine will share her research journey to identify the top composers or music makers of the area and the types of music popular in 1776 from patriotic and marching songs to social and dance music, to psalms and symphonies.
