Celebrate the First Weekend of Spring... in Music
RSO's 50th Anniversary Benefit Performance Features World-Class Music & Much More!
Snow got you down on the first day of spring? The sun, and warmer temperatures, will be back this weekend, and with it a chance to not only celebrate the first weekend of spring, but the 50th Anniversary of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra!
The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra’s Gala Benefit Performance on Sunday, March 22nd, 4:30 pm, at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at WCSU, features world-class music in a spectacular venue, bounteous, gourmet hors-d’oeuvres, a complimentary glass of bubbly, historical memorabilia and incredible, unique auction items.
The March 22nd musical program is magnificent- Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Violin Concerto #3; Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, a work truly apropos this weekend; and Johann Strauss Jr. immortal Blue Danube Waltz.

Magnificent also is the venue. WCSU opened their new Visual and Performing Arts Center in autumn 2014, and it was recently rated ninth nationwide among all university performing arts complexes. Architecturally stunning and acoustically perfect, it is a perfect complement to the world-class music of the RSO.
But March 22nd is much more than just a concert. A cocktail hour opens the celebration, with sumptuous hors-d’oeuvres, a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, along with displays of historic RSO memorabilia.

And as this is a benefit for the orchestra, a select number of exclusive, enticing auction items will be available. A week-long stay at a gorgeous, private home in Provence, France, heads the list, along with a week stay in August 2015 at an upscale condo on Cape Cod and a stunning, Swiss-made Leonard wristwatch.
The benefit celebrates the myriad people whose contributions have been invaluable in the growth of the RSO over the past five decades. Specific honorees include RSO Board Presidents, past and present; Harold Spratt, dedicated RSO patron and philanthropist; and Susan Goff, long-time musician with the RSO, celebrating her 40th year with the orchestra in 2015.
World-class music performed in a world-class venue. Gourmet hors-d’oeuvres and exclusive auction items. An opportunity to honor 50 years of music and those who made it possible. And all proceeds benefit the RSO. Truly, an event not to be missed… and a way to celebrate the coming of spring! Tickets are $100/person, with limited availability, and are available through the WCSU Box Office, by phone at 203-837-8499, or online at www.wcsu.edu/tickets. Tickets will be available at the door as well.
