Coastal Orthopaedics will be opening an emergency care facility in December. The facility will be located at 761 Main Avenue, Norwalk, in the old Perkin-Elmer building on the Norwalk/Wilton line, now known as iPark.
The new center, called Coastal Ortho Express™, will offer walk-in urgent care for orthopaedic issues. It will be open with extended hours Monday through Saturday (and possibly Sunday) and will cater to orthopedic injuries and pain such as breaks, sprains, and dislocations. This facility will treat 95% of problems treated in the ER without a visit to the hospital. By visiting an orthopedic urgent care, patients can get immediate, expert and definitive care for bone and joint pains on a walk-in basis.
“This is the future of modern orthopedic emergency treatment,” says Dr. Protomastro. “Now patients can come to us first without having an appointment or going to the Emergency Room for orthopedic injuries and issues. This will save our patients significant time and money.”
