Cops: Customers 'Unwittingly' Paid for Wilton Cashier's Gift Cards

The cashier would allegedly add a gift card to the end of customer's transactions.

A Stop and Shop cashier was charged with larceny on April 11 for allegedly adding gift cards to customer’s transactions.

According to police, Jabari Dear, 20, of Norwalk would add a gift card to the end of a customer’s transaction and keep the gift card for himself.

“The customer would pay for their purchase and unwittingly pay for Dear’s gift card as well,” the reports says.

Dear was charged with sixth-degree larceny and illegal use of a credit card. While being charged, he was searched and a small amount of marijuana was found in his sock, police said. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.

He was given a court date of April 21.
