CT United Ride To Roll Through Wilton, Closing Route 7

WILTON, CT — The CT United Ride will be rolling through Wilton on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Route 7 northbound in Wilton will be closed to traffic as the motorcycle procession, led by the Connecticut State Police, proceeds through town from approximately 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Wilton Police and Wilton CERT members will be on hand to assist closing intersections. The PD is asking motorists who need to travel during this time to make alternate arrangements and avoid Route 7 between Westport Road north to Route 107.

The motorcade of motorcycles is the 18th running of the annual event, and is billed as a tribute for the victims and heroes of 9/11. Organizers expect riders and spectators over the course of the parade from Norwalk to Bridgeport to total over 20,000 people and 1,000 motorcycles.

This years 2018 CT United Ride is dedicated to CT State Trooper First Class Walter Greene #1297 who volunteered at Ground Zero, lead the event for years, and who recently passed away from 9/11 illness complications.
