From a Cyclist: Thank You

Hi everyone. It’s me again. One of those cyclists you may see in the early morning or later afternoon commuting to and from work on my bike.

Every year I like to try to post to as many of the local news sites as I can find the following ‘thank you’.

I just want to honestly take a moment and thank those of you being patient with us on bikes and giving us some space as you pass around us.
With the roads in the conditions they are in from the past brutal winter sometimes we may have to ride alot further off the far right white line as preferred.
We aren’t trying to cause anyone any further delays and appreciate beyond words your patience in letting us really hammer through these areas get back out of the way.

I know I only commute via bike a couple of times a week and drive the others so I know how important it is to get to where you need to go on everyone’s busy day and sometimes there are some groups of cyclists that can just be outright jerks.
I do my best not to be one of those.

Again thank you for your patience. That extra 10-15 seconds delay won’t hurt you, but it could hurt me and for that I am truly appreciative of your understanding.

really, is this this surprising at all? We have countless people shitting on the Federal Government, questioning everything it does. Is this so unexpected that people would turn on the police as well?
