Daniel Moniz, 78; Stamford Resident Who Worked for Wilton Board of Education

Daniel Moniz, 78, a Stamford resident passed away on Aug. 11, 2014 at his residence.

Born on Dec. 28, 1935 in New Bedford, MA, a son of the late Marianno and Mary (Furtado) Moniz.

He worked for the Wilton Board of Education as a custodian for many years.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Frances (Pope) Moniz; his son, Brian Moniz; his sister Hilda Boucher and her husband Roland of New Bedford, MA; his sister-in-laws, Janet Moniz and Dot Moniz; a grandson, Brian Moniz and his wife Ashley, and two great-granddaughters, Angelina and Audriana. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased his twin brother, Donald Moniz and brother, George Moniz and sisters, Evelyn Rosa, Mary Silveira and Irene Lewis.

All services will be conducted in private.

Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
