Driver Had BAC More Than 3 Times Legal Limit With Child In Car: Wilton Police

WILTON, CT — A Norwalk woman had a blood alcohol concentration more than three times the legal limit when she was arrested on accusations of driving under the influence with a child in her vehicle, according to Wilton police.

Police said officers responded to 167 Danbury Road around 6:39 p.m. Aug. 26 after receiving a report of a woman who had been drinking and driving a blue Ford Escape in Wilton. A juvenile passenger was also in the vehicle, police said.

The 41-year-old driver showed signs of impairment and did not perform field sobriety tests to standard, according to police.

Following her arrest, police said the woman submitted to two breath tests. The first registered a BAC of .2673, while the second registered .2618.

Connecticut's legal BAC limit for most adult drivers is .08.

The woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating a motor vehicle under the influence with a passenger under 18, police said.

She posted $21 toward a $300 bond and was scheduled to appear Sept. 8 in Stamford Superior Court, according to police.
