Police said the SUV hit two vehicles and a guardrail before continuing on three tires. The driver was later arrested on several charges.
WILTON, CT — A Wilton woman drove about 1.5 miles on three tires after striking two vehicles and a guardrail before she was arrested on DUI and other charges, according to police.
The 43-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Suburban west on School Road near the Comstock Community Center on Sept. 10 when she sideswiped an eastbound vehicle, police said.
Police said she then swerved back into the westbound lane before crossing the double-yellow line and striking a second vehicle traveling east. She then lost control of the SUV and struck a guardrail on the western side of School Road.

Officers said they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the woman's breath and asked her to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which she refused. Police said she also refused a breath test after being taken to headquarters.
The woman was arrested on charges of illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, evading responsibility and failure to keep right, according to police.
She was released on $300 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 22 in Stamford Superior Court, police said.
