Breast Cancer Alliance's Go For Pink event kicks-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special day of shopping, activities & philanthropy

Breast Cancer Alliance announced that it is partnering with Greenwich merchants for a special day of events and shopping on Thursday, October 2nd 2014. This inaugural event, called GO FOR PINK, will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participating Greenwich merchants will be donating a portion of the day’s sales to Breast Cancer Alliance. Currently, 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
GO FOR PINK will commence with the Breast Cancer Alliance flag raising ceremony at Greenwich Town Hall at 9:00 am on October 2nd. Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei is scheduled to kick-off this inaugural event. The day will conclude with GO FOR PINK special shopping receptions at participating stores from 5:00-8:00 pm and at Richards of Greenwich until 9:00 pm. All participating merchants will feature a sign in their windows, entitled GO FOR PINK, that will let shoppers know they are partnering with Breast Cancer Alliance for this uplifting community event.
Sharon Phillips, Breast Cancer Alliance President, said, “We are very enthusiastic about this new community event and grateful to all the town merchants who are demonstrating their support. It should be a wonderful day and a festive evening. All funds raised will directly support the innovative research and targeted support services that are the hallmarks of this focused organization.”
