Sunday, June 10th, the Wilton Fencing Academy was packed with fencers ready to compete with foils in hand. WFA competed against the talented fencers from Breakthru, and had a decisive victory with a score of 11-5. With impressive performances by Jack Goldberg (2-1) Megan Roughan (2-1) Carlos Salguero (2-0) Ian Sanders (2-0) Liam Smith (1-1) Henry Vossler (2-0) and a strong performance by Nick Toldalagi, (0-2) despite this being his first match. Foil Coach Donald Gruenwald had this to say about the two teams, “I was really impressed by our performance, and the Breakthru team is such a wonderful bunch of people.” Team Coach Matt Laudicina said, “I am very proud of the way my team performed, the Wilton team as a whole is progressing extremely well, and I look forward to seeing them compete in future fencing events.” WFA remains undefeated, and their victory this weekend makes their score 5-0.
