Wilton Chamber Business After Hours: September's monthly social features "The Art of the Single Malt"

The Wilton Chamber of Commerce today announced that Fairfield County Bank and Gregory & Adams are uniting once again to host September’s Business After Hours on Thursday the 22nd from 5:30-7pm.

Each month, the Wilton Chamber features a celebratory after hours of business networking and lively socializing for members. September’s gathering boasts an exquisite single malt scotch tasting at which guests will sample complex, versatile spirits from the Highlands. Participants will circulate with local business leaders, colleagues and friends, while enjoying and appreciating quality, rare single malts in a relaxed setting.

Sponsored by the bank and law firm, the event will begin with a kilt-clad bagpiper welcoming attendees into Fairfield County Bank to circulate with local business leaders, while sampling traditional Scottish cheeses and hors d’oeuvres created by Marianne Wilson Catering, sagely paired to complement the malt whiskey, provided by Vintage Fine Wines. The scotch tasting will feature The Balvenie Speyside single malt scotch: a 12-year-old version, a single barrel 15- year-old malt, and a 12-year-old double wood sherry cask finished bottle. Tasters will be guided through the steps of experiencing four different scotches using the four senses of touch, taste, sight and smell.

Chamber vice president and Fairfield County Bank vice president Carol Johnson will host the evening with toasts to welcome the newest members of the Wilton Chamber and introduce their business or organization to the attendees. Door prizes will include a $75 ticket to the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in October, two $50 Wilton Chamber gift certificates, a one-year subscription to Golf Digest, a $50 gift certificate from Fish Tales Seafood Co., a tray and $35 gift certificate from Signature Styles, and an accessory and $25 gift certificate from B Chic.

Wilton Chamber of Commerce president, Ralph Slater, attorney and president at Gregory & Adams, said, “We hope that all Wilton businesses will consider attending this annual September event, which kicks off the Chamber’s event-filled fall calendar.” He added, “As people return from summer to get back to business, this social provides an informal setting in which to establish some great connections and build long-lasting relationships.”

The evening of whiskeys, fine finger foods and bagpipe music is certain to be an unparalleled experience. Event admission is $20 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members. Register and pre-pay at www.wiltonchamber.com to attend, make valuable contacts, learn about new local business developments, and meet industry peers.
