The Wilton Newcomers Club is excited to choose Wilton Social Services as the beneficiary of its annual spring fundraiser. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 28th at 8pm at The White Barn at Ambler Farm and is sponsored by Rings End and Sun Products Corporation.
Please join your friends at the Newcomers biggest event of the year for a fun-filled “Night in the Caribbean”. Caribbean-themed hors d’oeuvres provided by Nancy Burke Catering and a selection of drinks, including a signature “island” drink, will be served. We are also excited to welcome Wilton Steel, a steel drum band, to provide musical entertainment. The evening will feature a silent auction with items graciously donated by area businesses. Katie Cunningham, co-chair of fundraising for WNC, says “We are grateful to all of the local businesses that have generously donated items for our silent auction. We know this is a challenging time not only for Wilton families but also for small businesses. Every donation will make a difference.”
This event is open to the public, and the cost is $25, $50, or $100 per person depending on the desired level of support. Pre-registration is required and can be done at www.WiltonNewcomersClub.com.

Wilton Social Services has tripled its client base since the economic downturn of 2008. They work to provide financial assistance, counseling, food, and other necessities to members of the Wilton community who have fallen on hard times. The Wilton Newcomers Club has supported Social Services in the last year by participating in their food drive at Thanksgiving and toy drive during the holiday season. Jennifer McNamara, co-chair of fundraising for WNC, says “We are thrilled to support Wilton Social Services this year because we believe in their efforts to provide a leg up to members of our community, like so many throughout the country, who have fallen on hard times. There is a lot to be said about taking care of your own first - be it your family, your friends or your neighbors.” This year, Wilton Social Services has received an unprecedented number of requests for heating assistance and is faced with a shortfall in order to meet those needs. With this fundraiser, the Newcomers are hoping to bring the Wilton community together to help reduce this shortfall.
