Family of Electrocuted Danbury Man Sues Wilton Company
The suit alleges that Marco Silva's employers failed to follow regulations.
WILTON, CT -- The family of a utility contractor who was electrocuted on the job has filed a lawsuit claiming his employers, KTI Utility Construction & Maintenance LLC of Wilton, and the utility Eversource, failed to follow safety guidelines, The Hour is reporting.
The family of Marco Silva, a 44-year-old private contractor from Danbury who died of electrocution in Wilton in June 2016, sued in Superior Court in Danbury on July 11. Nara Rodrigues-Feitosa is seeking more than $15,000. The suit alleges that her husband's employers failed to follow regulations.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) previously cited KTI Utility Construction after an investigation into Silva's death revealed the Wilton drilling company had failed to operate mechanical equipment at a safe distance from an exposed power line, and for not tasking an employee with ensuring that a safe distance was observed while the job was under way.
