Five Arrested After Burglary At Dead Wilton Man's Home: PD

The man had recently died. A crowbar was found in the group's possession, police said.

WILTON, CT — Five Massachusetts residents were arrested after they broke into a person's home who had recently died, according to police.

The resident died March 15 on Scribner Hill Road and his death wasn't considered suspicious, according to the Wilton Bulletin. A neighbor reported suspicious activity days later.

Police found a woman outside of the home in a vehicle along with four others who were inside the home when police arrived, according to the Hour. The arrestees told police they were there to pay their respects after learning of the death.

The arrestees had a crowbar with them. They were all charged with burglary, trespassing and conspiracy charges.
