Forger Nabbed After Year-Long Investigation: Wilton Police
The arrest followed an inquiry into a check that was stolen from a Pimpewaug Road resident, and "washed" for a higher amount
WILTON, CT — A Bronx resident was apprehended by the Wilton Department on forgery and identity theft charges following a year-long investigation.
Police took Joaquin A. Fletepena, 27, into custody shortly before midnight on Nov. 7 on an active arrest warrant signed by Stamford Superior Court.
The arrest followed an inquiry into a check that was stolen from a Pimpewaug Road resident, "washed" for a higher amount, and fraudulently deposited, according to Wilton police.

Police charged Fletepena with third-degree conspiracy to commit identity theft, third-degree conspiracy to commit forgery, and third-degree larceny. He posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court Nov. 17.
