Human Services Council Welcomes new Director for Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition

Carlos Reinoso, Jr. will begin his new role on Monday, September 22.

The Human Services Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlos Reinoso, Jr. as the director for Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition (MFSAC). Carlos will begin his new role on Monday, September 22. He replaces Tracey-Ann George. Tracey will be working with Carlos during the transition.

Carlos has been in the field of Human Services and Education for the past 16 years. He has worked in clinical and educational settings as well as collaborated with many community centers and agencies statewide. Carlos has extensive experience in prevention through educational presentations, community outreach and case management.

Prior to joining HSC, Carlos served as coordinator of services at the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) where he was responsible for statewide outreach, legislative advocacy and community relations. He is a Design Team Member and a certified facilitator for the Parent Leadership Training Institute, with the State of Connecticut, Commission on Children.

Anthony DiLauro, executive director of the Human Services Council says, “we are happy to welcome Carlos to our team. He has the qualifications, passion and personal characteristics to expand the program and help HSC reach its future goals.” MFSAC is one of thirteen CT Regional Action Council’s and works to provide communities with education, training and advocacy for substance abuse prevention.

Carlos has a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in both Psychology and Human Services, with additional certifications and training in Behavioral Healthcare and Gerontology. He is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership. Carlos is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese as well. He resides in Monroe, CT with his wife and four children.

With a primary focus on helping children and families, the Human Services Council addresses child abuse and advocacy, school-based medical and mental health services, mentoring, alcohol & drug prevention, and homelessness. The Human Services Council is home to: Children’s Connection, the Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Centers, the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition, the Norwalk Mentor Program, and 40 South Main Street Housing.
