Join us! Chorale singers invited to sing Dvorak Thurs July 25.

Music on the Hill's 17th Annual Summer Chorus features Dvorak on Thurs July 25. Rehearsals T/Th's in July. Register by 6/30.

Music on the Hill (www.musiconthehillCT.org) invites choral singers to join us for our 17th annual Summer Chorus in presenting choral music of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak on Thursday, July 25 in Wilton, CT. Please register by June 30.

We will be offering an uplifting concert of Dvorak on Thursday July 25 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton (48 New Canaan Rd). Works will be his Te Deum (Op. 103) and the Mass in D Major (Op. 86), both written in the 1890s as Dvorak turned his eye towards America and his time here. These treasures are not frequently performed and so provide a special experience for singers to explore and celebrate his style and compositions.

We welcome and invite singers from high school on up to join us. No auditions are required. Rehearsals for the concert are Tuesdays and Thursdays in July, 7-9 PM (July 2 – 23, excepting July 4) at WEPCO in Wilton. The concert will be at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 8PM Thursday July 25.

About Summer Chorus

Find out what's happening in Wiltonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

The Summer Chorus of 60+ voices meets each July to rehearse and perform a major choral-orchestral work. Participants -- music professionals and skilled amateurs -- include members of church and community choirs, high school singers, and those looking for a choral home. The Summer Chorus provides an opportunity for choral singers to perform a major work in summer when most choruses do not meet, and it gives singers a chance to get to know others from many area towns and choruses.

The Summer Chorus has performed cantatas by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, the Brahms Requiem, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and Thompson’s Frostiana, among others.
