Man Arrested While Filing Complaint: Wilton Police

Police say the man came into the police station to file a complaint, but was arrested after they ran his name.

WILTON, CT — A Newtown man was arrested in Wilton last week after going into the police station to file a complaint, according to police.

John Lewis, 30, went to the Wilton police station Thursday to file a complaint on March 19 at 9 a.m. When police ran his information, they found he had two outstanding warrants for the same charge and place him under arrest.

Lewis was charged with two counts of failing to appear in court. He was originally charged with operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.

Lewis was unable to post the $6,000 bond and was transported to court the day after, according to police.
