EverWonder Children’s Museum is pleased to announce its calendar for May 2016. The museum has events for the entire family. The event calendar is subject to change without notice. Please check EverWonderMuseum.org or Facebook for calendar changes and announcements.

EverWonder is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $7.00 per person, and children under the age of 1 years old are free. Museum members are free. Parking at the museum is also free.

Story Lab for Young Explorers meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am to 11:00 am. This 30 minute program of STEM themed stories, activities, and crafts takes place in the EverWonder classroom. Parents must stay with their children during the program. Program is free with museum admission.

Art Lab: Paper Daffodil Bouquets & Bumblebee Stripes

Starting on Tuesday, May 3rd, come check out our new flower inspired Art Lab projects, Paper Daffodil Bouquets and Bumblebee Stripes.

In Paper Daffodil Bouquet, our young scientists will use paper, cupcake liners, and Popsicle sticks to create paper daffodils. Our scientists will learn about floral parts and structure while constructing their bouquets.

In Bumblebee Stripes, our young scientists will assemble bumblebees by gluing alternate black and yellow colored stripes onto a bee pattern. Our young scientists will count how many stripes there are, and then write that number on the wings. Our young scientists will work on their counting and addition skills while constructing their bees.

Science Lab: Paper Water Lily Experiment

Calling all horticulturalists! On Wednesday, May 11th, come watch paper water lilies bloom before your very eyes. During this activity, our young horticulturalists will be simulating the blooming of a paper water lily. They will get to decorate and cut out their own paper water lily, and then watch it through using the power of capillary action.

Science Lab: Pollination

Calling all future botanists and beekeepers! Ever wonder how flowers grow and multiply? They grow and multiply with the help of bees! On Friday, May 20th, come learn about the process of biotic pollination. We will be simulating biotic pollination through using paper bees, tape, and gelatin.

Calling all busy bees! Come learn about the bee's natural habitat, the beehive, on Wednesday, May 25th at EverWonder Children's Museum. Through using bubble wrap, paint, and paper, our busy bee artists will learn about hive construction, honeycombs, and the busy life of bees.

Formed in January 2011 by a group of parents, EverWonder Children’s Museum (incorporated as Newtown Children’s Museum, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring children and families in Northern Fairfield County through the use of hands-on museum exhibits and demonstrations. Museums hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 am -5 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. The museum is located at 31 Pecks Lane Newtown, CT 06470. Regular admission is $7.00 for visitors over 1 year of age.
