Miggs Burroughs will dance, Bobby Valentine to judge....

Community event

Be thrilled and amused by Westport and Fairfield community leaders who are joining together for a delightful event on Saturday, October 18th at The Patterson Club. A Chance To Dance is a wildly entertaining fundraiser created as a Dancing With The Stars-type competition. Tickets are still available but hurry..it was sold-out last year. Six community leaders including artist Miggs Burroughs, event designer Moshe Aelyon, and Julie Mombello have graciously agreed to take on roes as local celebrity dancers. Each will perform on the dance floor with a professional partner to compete for The Mirrorball Trophy and The People’s Choice Award. They have been practicing for months.

The panel of distinguished judges consists of former Mets’ Manager Bobby Valentine, Fairfield University Chaplain Father Charles Allen, and Westport Dance Instructor Sue Benton. This outrageously fun event benefits Positive Directions of Westport. Since 1971, Positive Directions has provided mental health counseling and educational programs for parents and teens that address underage drinking and other drug use.

Call Positive Directions 203.227.7644 or Visit the event website : http://www.achancetodance.us to buy tickets or to vote for your favorite dancer. No tickets will be sold at the door.
