Music on the Hill Hosts August Summer Sings

Singers are invited for choral classics on Tuesdays in August.

Music on the Hill will host a series of Summer Sings in Wilton on Tuesday evenings in August, beginning Aug. 4th.

Each Summer Sing features a different work from the classical choral repertoire and a different conductor. Singers of all backgrounds are invited to sight-read a choral classic with fellow music-lovers. No preparation required, and no performance. Participants may attend one or many sessions.
Summer Sings will be held each Tuesday, August 4 through 25, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Wilton Presbyterian Church, located in the WEPCO church complex at 48 New Canaan Road in Wilton.

The schedule:
  • Aug. 4th: Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass with Music on the Hill artistic director Ellen Dickinson.
  • Aug. 11th: Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with conductor Carolina Flores;
  • Aug. 18: Mozart’s Requiem with conductor David Recca;
  • Aug. 25: TBA with Music on the Hill artistic director David H. Connell

Summer Sings are an opportunity  to try a new piece of music or to revisit a familiar favorite. All singers are welcome -- members of church and community choirs; high school singers; adults wanting to return to singing or to dip into the choral classics.

No advance registration is required, and scores will be available for use. There is no charge for Summer Sings; donations welcome.
