Nearly $1K In NyQuil, DayQuil Stolen From Wilton CVS: Police
Police said officers recovered 27 unopened bottles after locating a suspect.
WILTON, CT — A person accused of stealing nearly $1,000 worth of NyQuil and DayQuil from a Wilton CVS was arrested Thursday after officers spotted the suspect jogging near the Wilton Library, police said.
Officers responded around 1:31 p.m. to CVS Pharmacy at 93 Old Ridgefield Road for a reported shoplifting, according to the Wilton Police Department.
Employees told police they saw a person placing merchandise into a green backpack. When confronted by store employees, the person removed some of the merchandise before fleeing on foot toward the Stop & Shop plaza, police said.

While searching the area, officers spotted someone matching the description near the Wilton Library who was jogging away from the area of the reported theft. Officers detained the person without incident.

The merchandise was photographed and returned to CVS, and store employees identified the detained person as the individual involved in the incident, according to police.
The person was charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Police said officers also discovered the person had four outstanding arrest warrants from other jurisdictions. The suspect was processed at Wilton Police Headquarters and held on bond pending an appearance in Stamford Superior Court.
