New Haven Man Accused Of Impersonating FBI Agent: Wilton Police

A New Haven man has been accused of impersonating an FBI agent when he tried to report a false domestic incident in Wilton, police said.

WILTON, CT — A New Haven man has been accused of impersonating an FBI agent when he tried to report a false domestic incident in Wilton, according to Wilton police.

Perry Charnas, 39, of Chapel Street, first began his impersonation after a series of phone calls placed to the Wilton Police Department in October 2022.

On April 8, Charnas was arrested by New Haven police on a warrant. He was charged with two counts of second-degree false incident reporting, and criminal impersonation.

Charnas was held on a $30,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on April 9.
