Obituary: David Chizmadia, 56

He was a school bus driver for the Town of Wilton, a job he truly loved. The kids meant a great deal to him.

David Chizmadia, 56, of Fairfield, the loving husband of Kelly Chizmadia for over 30 years and devoted father of Justin and Jake Chizmadia, died suddenly on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Born in Bridgeport to the late Stephen and Hazel (Cochran) Chizmadia, David was a lifelong resident.

He earned his GED and went on to become a welder with the Robert G. Warner Company for more than 20 years. Recently, he was a school bus driver for the Town of Wilton, a job he truly loved. The kids meant a great deal to him and he would come home daily with many stories to tell about the kids and how he enjoyed his day.

David had a love of motorcycles and of tattoos. His family was everything to him and he was a wonderful husband, father and a truly selfless person.

In addition to his wife and children, David is survived by his loving sister, Elizabeth Chizmadia Fox and her husband, Kevin, his two brothers, Frank Chizmadia and his wife Lee of Milford and Ernie Chizmadia and his wife, Lucille of Fairfield; his sisters-in-law, Tracey Moore Chizmadia and Maryanne Piorek, both of Fairfield; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Cheryl Lynn Chizmadia and his brother, Stephen Chizmadia, Jr.

Friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Road in Fairfield. Interment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet his family on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield.
