Obituary - Dr. Alan John Quick

Dr. Alan John Quick

Dr. Alan John Quick, at 84 years of age, passed away peacefully on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2014.  He was born in Floral Park, NY on April 3, 1930 to the late Ida Murphy Quick and John F. Quick.

Dr. Quick was a 1949 graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School in Fairfield and a 1953 graduate of Fairfield University.  After serving as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in Korea, Dr. Quick graduated from Temple School of Podiatry in Philadelphia.  He established a successful podiatry practice in Stamford for over 40 years with his twin brother, Dr. Richard Frances Quick.

When not working, he loved to play cards and had an extraordinary talent as a gifted carpenter, building many treasured pieces of furniture for the family.  Alan loved fall weekends watching Notre Dame football and the National Football League.  Alan gave his family and friends 84 wonderful years.

Alan was a man of great faith and a loving husband to his surviving bride of 51 years, Margaret (Silk) Quick.  He is also survived by his five children, Michael Quick of Norwalk, and his two children Katie and Brian; Megan Deorio and her husband, Jeff, of Norwalk, and their three children Matthew, Paul and Caroline; Christopher Quick and his wife, Heli, of Ridgefield, and their three children Kean, Brogan and Kiili; Tara Tomasetti and her husband, Dave, of Norwalk and Paul Quick and his wife, Maureen, of Darien, and their three children Maggie, Sean and Annie.

Alan is also survived by his two sisters Gloria Grey of Wilton and Mary Jayne Lilley also of Wilton as well as 17nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his twin brother Dr. Richard Quick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
